Questions

Questions about the list

How does the list work?

Send up to five jobs by form, text or phone. We text back a price for each one and a two-hour window. One crew comes, does them all, and you get one invoice with a line for each job.

What if I have more than five jobs?

We split them into two visits. If the jobs add up to a project, such as a remodel, we tell you, because that needs a written estimate from a different kind of visit.

What does the minimum visit charge cover?

Every visit has a minimum charge before materials, and the text-back says what it is. A list of two or three jobs usually clears it. A single small job may not.

Do you bring the parts?

Screws, anchors, caulk, patch compound and the small parts for common repairs ride on every van and are in the task price. A faucet, door, TV bracket or light fixture you choose and buy, or we pick it up and put it on the invoice at what it cost.

Homes built before 1978: does anything change?

It can. Federal EPA rules for paint in older homes apply when a job disturbs more than 6 square feet of paint inside or 20 square feet outside, and always for window replacement and demolition. We ask the year your house was built when you send the list. If a job falls under the rule, the text-back tells you how it will be handled before anything is booked.

Does anyone speak Spanish?

Yes. Guillermina, Zacarías and Nayely speak Spanish. Say so when you send your list and we send one of them.

Are you licensed and insured?

We hold a California contractor license and carry liability insurance and workers' compensation. The license number is in the footer of every page, and the state's lookup page lets you check it.

What don't you do?

Roofing, new electrical circuits and panels, gas lines, tree work, and leaks inside a wall or under a slab. If your list has one of those, we do the rest and tell you who to call for it.

How do I pay?

When the list is done, by card or check. If a job needs materials ordered ahead, a deposit follows California's rules and is written on your estimate.

Who comes to my home?

One or two people from our crew, in a van. You get a text with their first names when they're on the way. An adult should be home, or you can leave a lockbox code.

Can I add a job after you arrive?

Often, at the price on the list, if the crew has time left in your window. Anything bigger than the list gets its own text-back.

What if a repair doesn't hold?

Call us. If a repair we made fails, we come back and fix our own work. A part carries its maker's warranty, and damage after our visit, or a new problem, is a new job. Your invoice says the same.

Still wondering? Text us.

A person reads every text during business hours.
